Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently is the president of the organization. Buss was born in California and was raised as part of a rich family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon and later owner of Lakers and other enterprises. She felt abandoned emotionally when her parents separated in 1972. When she was 19 years old, she became the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice president of the Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013, and his control over ownership of the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings through a family trust with each sibling having the same vote. Buss assumed the role of president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
