Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993 in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to the singing sensation Dionne. The singer began her singing career in the choir at her church The New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the early years of her childhood at the age of 15 was singing backing vocals professionally alongside her mother on Chaka Khans 1978 hit Im Every Woman. In 1981, she did a stint as a fashion model and appeared on the Seventeen album cover. She also provided backing vocals to Lou Rawls and Jermaine. Her singing with New York-based band Material have attracted record companies of all sizes which included Arista. She signed with Arista in 1983, where she spent the remainder of her professional career. Whitney Houston, her debut album released in 1985, was the most-sold album by the debut artist. On the album, she came out with several hits including Saving the Day, All My Love for You How Are You Going to Know If You're a Good Person And The More Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US Top Ones in a row. The singer beat the Beatles. The album sold 3 million copies the first year as well as 25 million around the world. The album won her first six Grammys. The Whitney album from 1987, that featured songs like The Bodyguard, I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to and continued to be a huge success. But it is The Bodyguard of 1992 that turned her into one of the top-selling musicians in recent history. Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for news and reporting and political reporter for CNN. She hosted a variety of weekend programs on the network, which include Evans & Novak: Late Edition" as well as Inside Politics." She has previously worked for NBC as well as CBS.
